Awards & Recognition
Ms. Barrett was recognized as one of Pacific Business News’ ten Women to Watch at its 2013 Women Who Mean Business awards event and as one of Hawai‘i’s best and brightest young business leaders at its 2011 Forty Under 40 awards. During 2010, Jennifer was one of twelve people from across the U.S. selected for Papahānaumokuākea ‘Ahahui Alaka‘i, a ten-day, all expense paid, experiential leadership program on Midway Atoll sponsored by the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument. She has also served as a Pacific Century Fellow, an esteemed fellowship that encourages the development of long-term relationships between leaders young and old, united in their commitment to find creative solutions to the challenges facing the state of Hawai‘i.
Professional & Community Service
Ms. Barrett currently serves on the board of the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration, and as the president of Hawai‘i Nature Hui. A sampling of her past roles include serving as a member of the global steering committee for the IUCN’s Commission on Education and Communication, chairing the community advisory council for the Kaulunani Urban & Community Forestry Program, and serving as the education chair for the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. She is frequently invited to advise organizations on topics including social media marketing, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and volunteer management.
